This week we rounded 2.4 million downloads of Magic’s NuGet packages. This obviously doesn’t equate to number of users, since users will update their existing installations, and each time a user clones Magic he or she downloads all of the 35 packages that exists at Magic’s NuGet repository - But, a week ago we had 2.3 million downloads, and even acccommodating for CI and CD pipelines and such, and the fact that each user downloads 35 files every time he or she clones Magic, or consumes it source code version, there is no doubt that Magic is now currently experiencing...
One of our partners has just finished the initial implementation of a medium complex FinTech project using Magic and Hyperlambda, and they wanted me to code review the product before putting the finishing touches on it. The system has 15 tables, it’s got 169 files, 165 of which are Hyperlambda, and the project is of medium complexity. There are two interesting points to this story, which is as follows. It took me 15 minutes to do a complete code review on the entire thing I could only find a handful of issues, in fact 7 to be exact The reasons...
We have just now cleaned up all of our Hyperlambda and Magic tutorials here the last week, and having gone through all of these myself today, I would claim that an existing software developer could easily roundtrip the entire list of Hyperlambda tutorials in roughly one hour. Since these tutorials goes through most of Hyperlambda, and the helper slots in Magic related to the programming language, this implies that you can teach yourself an entirely new way of creating software in roughly one hour. Our tutorial section The reasons why this is worth while, is because Hyperlambda is literally ridiculously...
Once every year I force myself to learn something completely new. Over the years this has resulted in that I’ve got dozens of hobbies, such as playing 5 music instruments, dabbling with acrylics, being quite capable of creating art with cheramics, etc. This year I started early, and I focused on Jekyll, and I am seriously impressed so far. To explain why, let me give you some facts about this website. It’s hosted 100% free by GitHub as a GitHub Page. I spent no more than 5 minutes setting up a custom domain for it. It’s exclusively served as static...
A friend of mine once told me the following, and forgive me for not completing the sentence yet, but hopefully you will understand why as I proceed - Anyways, my friend told me the following … If you’re the smartest guy in the room … Then the sentence goes on. Let’s pretend the sentence ends there though, purely as a theoretical exercise, and let’s try to analyse the consequences of the above being a factual statement. Well, if you truly are the smartest guy in the room, the following facts can purely logically be derived … You cannot learn anything...
